SIGNIFICANT INVESTOR VISA

We have a range of SIV compliant investment options.

The Significant Investor Visa (SIV) is a class of visa that is available to non-resident investors who invest at least an amount of A$5 million into complying investments in Australia for a minimum period of four years.

The SIV aims to provide a simplified and flexible path to permanent residence for migrant investors, while encouraging foreign investment into Australia.

On the 15 May 2015, the Government announced a modified investment framework for the Significant Investor Visa (SIV) and also introduced a new Premium Investor Visa (PIV) category.

The $5 million investment must now be split across complying investment categories. More information of these complying categories is provided below.

COMPLYING INVESTMENTS

To capture this opportunity the Aura High Yield SME Fund invests through leading on-line lending platforms in Australia providing the potential for wholesale investors and family offices to access high returns and a target of capital preservation as part of a smartly diversified portfolio that includes exposure to credit and fixed income investments.

Our strategy is designed to produce returns that have little or no correlation to public markets, high cash flow and low volatility. The fund will work with Marketplace and peer-to peer lenders who lend to SMEs. The fund will look to purchase notes from SPVs, or units in managed investment schemes that hold the underlying loans originated by the originators. We will also consider other investment methods as the market matures.

Our investment team has tracked over 20 Australian Fintech platforms and we have completed preliminary due diligence on all those, thus giving investors access to this attractive, fast growing and increasingly complex asset class in a very simple to access fund. We will only work with the originators that meet our investment criteria.

AURA’S INNOVATIVE SOLUTION TO THE FUNDING PROBLEM

The Premium Investor Visa (PIV) programme, introduced by the Government from 1 July 2015, targets talented entrepreneurs and innovators that meet the $15 million threshold. The PIV will offer a more expeditious, 12 month pathway to permanent residency than the SIV, however will only be available at the invitation of the Australian Government. This programme will be rolled out over the next year, focusing on attracting a small number of highly talented and entrepreneurial individuals.
