Aura Group welcomes Cynthia Koh as Risk & Compliance Manager. Cynthia brings more than 20 years of hands-on experience across investment management, regulatory compliance, and cross-border business operations. She joins the group at a time when strong, practical compliance leadership is ever more critical, not just to meet regulatory requirements, but to support sustainable growth across the region.
“Honoured to be part of the Aura Group as it continues to deepen its footprint across Asia Pacific private markets,” says Cynthia.
Cynthia’s background is shaped by both the regulatory and private sectors. She began her career at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) before moving into senior compliance roles at several global and regional asset managers. Along the way, she’s helped build compliance teams from scratch, navigated complex cross-border licensing processes, and worked directly with business leaders to develop practical compliance frameworks that support long-term goals.
Most recently, Cynthia was Compliance Director for Southeast Asia at Value Partners Asset Management. There, she assisted to obtain the retail fund management licence and set up the compliance function for Singapore.
Aura Group's COO, Nathan Harris commented, "This is a significant enhancement to the Aura Group governance, risk and compliance resources and I am very pleased that Cynthia agreed to join us!"
Before that, Cynthia spent seven years at Natixis Investment Managers supporting distribution compliance for Singapore and Southeast Asia. She’s also held key roles at Aviva Investors, PGIM, Threadneedle, and APS Asset Management. Her work has spanned a wide range of asset classes, including public equity, fixed income, real estate, private equity, and infrastructure.
What stands out about Cynthia is her ability to stay close to the details without losing sight of the big picture. She understands how businesses work and how compliance fits in as a foundation for trust, resilience, and scalability.
At Aura, Cynthia will focus on further strengthening our compliance systems across the group and working closely with our teams and partners throughout the region. Her knowledge of regional regulations and her practical, clear-sighted approach make her an invaluable addition to our leadership.
We’re excited to have her onboard!
